A Perfumers Shop, Bombay by Edwin Lord Weeks in the year 1890. This exceptional painting of a perfumer’s shop is an outstanding example for its glistening blue & white Chinese vases, masterly studies in porcelain reflections, and the superb rendition of a bejeweled Nautch dancer wrapped in gold sampling a tiny vase of perfume. The seated figure to the left is an Afghan identified by Weeks in what he termed an 'immense red turban'.
